Report: North Indian River Lagoon Spotted Sea Trout

I spent a few hours fishing early morning on the North Indian River Lagoon.  I launched my kayak just before sunrise and started working a topwater with hopes of a slot redfish or a gator trout.   Trough out the day (4 hours of fishing) I caught 16 speckled sea trout.  8 of them where in the slot, the rest where small.   The largest of the day was 20″.  My fishing buddy Tony and I saw quite a few reds tailing, but they would not hit ANYTHING.

• Lures Used:  Zara Spook Jr. / Gulp swimming Mullet
• Line: 10lb braid
• Leader: 15lb Fluorocarbon
