Kayak Fishing Ponce Inlet

I had a few hours to spare this morning so I decided to take the Kayak out and attempt to catch a few fish.  I looked at the weather and all looked well for fishing with low winds and calm seas.

I decided to launch from the new boat ramp in New Smyrna Beach.  It is the closest to Ponce Inlet, where I wanted to fish this morning.   In my kayak I brought 2 fishing poles, a cooler to keep fish, a bait bucket with live mud minnows and a few shrimp.

The seas were calm enough for me to fish up and down the jetties and I was able to hook into quite a few Mangrove Snapper as well as a few undersized Redfish.  I hooked into one large fish that took me for a little bit of a ride before cutting me off in the rocks.

Overall, it was a very fun trip.  I was able to take home my limit of Mangrove Snapper and fished an area I havent had much chance to fish before!
